HEART

Describe the external features of heart.
The human heart has four chambers. Thus are Right and left atrium and
Right and Left ventricles. The atria lie above the behind the ventricles on the
surface of the heart. They are separated from the ventricles by an atrio
ventricular groove. The ventricles are separate by an interventricular groove. The
heart has an apex its lies directed downwards, forwards and to the left, it has
a base its lies on directed upward, backward and to the right.
